Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is known not only for his roles on the big screen but also for the insane cheat meals he shares on Instagram for his fans and followers. The Jungle Cruise star shared with Delish more about his eating habits during his wrestling days and today, as well as how he stays so disciplined with his eating.
It's no shock Dwayne is a huge proponent of health, fitness, and working out. He's known as The Rock, after all, but his physique didn't come overnight and is actually the result of years of eating anywhere from 6,000 to 8,000 calories per day (!!). He says on a daily basis he eats anywhere from five to seven meals.
These meals can vary throughout the week but often use the same ingredients or food groups. For breakfast, Dwayne typically enjoys cream of rice or oatmeal with buffalo and eggs. After working out, he'll reach for a quick carb like rice or sweet potatoes with protein. Throughout the day he snacks on rice, chicken, greens, and fish (cod or salmon...even though he admittedly hates salmon). He eats in anyways, believing it's "a great fish in terms of your health and fitness."
To stay energized for long workouts or exhausting days on set, Dwayne turns to his own brand of energy drinks called Zoa, a project he became passionate about after mixing his own energy drinks for years.
As for his famous cheat days, The Rock says they're his way of rewarding himself after a disciplined week. "I do believe in working hard throughout the week and earning your cheat meals," he said. His go-to? A bacon avocado cheeseburger with all the fixings and fries on the side. He'll of course finish it off with something sweet like cookies, coffee cake, or apple fritter bread.
