Perfect Mudslide
A classic mudslide is the perfect dessert cocktail. A glass rimmed with chocolate and filled with a creamy drink of Baileys and Kahlua. It's more than just an excuse to have booze for dessert, but it's the only excuse we need. Try it with our Mini Baileys Cheesecakes! First, some tips:
Go cold on cold
What do we mean? This is a cold drink, meant to be blissfully consumed cold, almost ice cold. We recommend you chill everything (except the syrup) before assembly: the glass, vodka, Kahlua, Baileys, cream, shaker. We know – the ice is already cold.
Crushed ice is a no go
Full-size cubes here, please. The larger the better, as larger cubes take longer to melt, which means your mudslide will stay creamy and not watery.
Don’t get along with dairy
For the lactose intolerant and vegans: Rejoice! Baileys offers a vegan alternative made with almond milk. We hear it’s just as fab as the original. And for the heavy cream, there are a number of delicious plant-based alternatives made from soy, oats, or almond.
How else can I top it?
The options are kind of endless here! While a classic would be just to add some whipped cream, you could do something more fun like dipping the rim in chocolate syrup and coating it with crushed Oreos.
Do I have to use chocolate syrup?
Nope! You could omit it completely or add a bit more chocolate-y flavor by going right in with some melted chocolate.
