Best Brisket Rub

New! You can now save recipes. It's free!

The only thing the perfect brisket needs is a perfect rub. This one is a little bit sweet, a little bit smokey, and with just enough heat to spice it up. Rub it all over your brisket and then proceed with cooking as desired. Perfect for in the smoker, slow-cooker, or in the oven. The spice mix yields enough for at least a 12 pound brisket.

Want the rub to be a bit spicier? You add a few more teaspoons of cayenne. For that matter if you like any one aspect of the rub (or dislike) you can simply change the amounts! Just taste a bit and adjust accordingly.

Wondering what to serve with brisket? While we love a good potato dish (fries or mashed anyone?) but adding a pop of freshness with coleslaw is also a perfect pairing.

Any leftover spice can be stored in an air-tight container, preferably in a dark space, for up to a year from when the first spice was opened.
